Exterior

To the right of the Kitchen on the ground floor is an enormous cave, which could be made into another room leading off the Kitchen.

Further to the right of the Kitchen door, is a 1960’s pre-fabricated concrete building, which was once used as a Bedroom, Kitchenette and Toilet to house a single Itinerant worker. This building could easily be removed and dismantled by one of the neighbours.

There is one large Barn, which currently is used as a workshop, but could be converted into a garage.

There is a smaller Barn, which is also being used as a Workshop.

At the side of the small Barn is a smaller building, which at the moment is used as a wood store.

At the front of the house is a large Vegetable Garden. There would be enough room to put a greenhouse. It would not be difficult to make this property self-sufficient as far as fruit and vegetables are concerned. Also there are young Pear, Apple, Plum and Cherry trees scattered around the land, as well as lots of blackberry bushes.

To be able to keep chickens, ducks, geese etc would not be a problem because there are out-buildings, which would house these animals and 2 of the neighbours would be more than willing to assist in their rearing and also on hand to give good, sound advice. Along with getting anything ready for the oven.

On the left-hand side of the property is a culvert, which goes almost to the front of the house, this goes underneath the cave to the rear of the house, where there used to be a large water-driven wheel. This was because the house was originally built as a mill for the manufacture of cotton and wool products. To see where this wheel used to sit can be accessed via the rear of the property and also makes a home for local bats and swallows.

At the entrance to the property, which is part of the property, is a fenced off shallow pond (the water from this pond goes down into the culvert). We use any excess water at the moment to water the vegetable garden and also for filling up a large (18’ circular) portable Neoprene Swimming Pool (which will be left as part of the sale).
